The Pearson Edexcel International GCSE in Mathematics (Specification B) is designed for first teaching in September 2016, with first examinations in June 2018. This qualification features a linear assessment structure with two externally assessed papers: Paper 1 (1 hour 30 minutes, 33⅓% weighting) and Paper 2 (2 hours 30 minutes, 66⅔% weighting), both targeting grades 9-4 with grade 3 allowed. Each paper contains 100 marks and covers content from Number and Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, and Statistics and Probability. Paper 1 consists of 26-30 questions while Paper 2 has 11-12 longer questions. Both papers allow calculator use and distribute marks with approximately 40% across grades 4-5 and 60% across grades 6-9. The qualification provides students with problem-solving and mathematical reasoning skills, preparing them for further study in mathematics and related subjects.
There’s more than one qualification for this subject i.e., Mathematics B (2016), Mathematics B (2009). All the question papers with mark scheme are now available.
