The Pearson Edexcel International GCSE in Science (Double Award) (Modular) is a flexible qualification first taught in September 2024, with the first exams scheduled for May/June 2025. This modular structure allows students to take unit exams at different times during the course and resit individual units to improve their grades. The final grade is determined by combining the best marks from each unit.


The course covers Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, divided into smaller units. Key topics include living organisms, chemical reactions, forces, energy transfers, and astrophysics. Each unit is assessed through a written exam lasting 1 hour and 10 minutes, featuring multiple-choice, short-answer, calculation-based, and extended-response questions. Practical skills are integrated into the curriculum and tested through written assessments.
